Do You F.E.A.R Public Accountability?

Have you ever set a goal and told yourself that you would achieve it by a certain date only to have your goal date come and go without experiencing any kind of significant progress? If this is the case you are certainly not alone. I’ve been there myself and that’s why I can vouch for just how powerful it can be when you announce your goals publicly.
If your goal is worthy of dreaming about… It’s worthy of sharing… and it’s worthy of achieving. Take a moment to watch this inspirational video about public accountability from one of my mentors and Change Series Expert Mike Filsaime
Public Accountability Will Help You Achieve Your Dream Life Faster
Why did you dream about achieving your goal in the first place? What inspired the thought? What were the feelings that you experienced when you began to envision the impact that achieving this goal would have?
Why the heck would you want to keep it to yourself? There’s only a few reasons that I can think of and one of them is fear…
Fear of what people would say if you don’t achieve the goal that you set. Fear of the effort that you will have to put in if you are going to achieve the goal. And sometimes even fear of achieving the goal.
My friend Dax Moy says that the word F.E.A.R. stands for Forever Expecting Awful Results.
We all experience fear, but as Change Series Expert Nicola Cairncross says, “Feel the fear and do it anyway.”
My best results in all areas of life have come from when I made my goals public. I set a major financial goal in Mike Filsaime’s forum and within three months I had made more progress than I had in the past 3 years. Last year I made my fitness goals public on my blog and documented my journey. In three months I released 35 pounds of fat from my body and got my 6 pack abs back.
My question to you is… What has held you back from stating your goals publicly? For those of you who have stated your goals publicly whether it be in a forum, in a blog post, or to friends and family, how did that impact your motivation to achieve your goal?
Share your comments in the box below. We would love to hear from you.

When I first started blogging my only hope was to document my journey to reach my goal weight. I wanted to lose over 100 lbs and stay on course. As I started to blog and got some people checking in I realized that I could help others do the same.
Now it is looking like my next career move. And I have stayed accountable to reaching a goal that in the beginning seemed impossible. I had tried many years and failed many times. But putting it all out there for everyone to see made a huge difference in my confidence level.
Now almost everyday I am finding more people to work with and to motivate to make the same journey. It is great.
Thank you so much for sharing this Rick. By the way, your blog totally rocks. You have some very inspiring posts there.
It has been incredibly rewarding for me to see how many of my online fat loss customers have achieved great success and then went on to get their own certifications in the fitness industry and ventured into a new career of helping others.
We all have the gift and abilities to inspire others. You my friend have used your gift and are having a wonderful positive impact on the world and for that I thank you.
Gotta love achieving the impossible
